There are two ways to enroll in classes at the Silicon Valley Center. Current University of California, Santa Cruz students my enroll via My UCSC to attend the class at the Silicon Valley Center or to attend the class telecast on the University of California, Santa Cruz campus. For those who are not students, enrollment is available via Concurrent Enrollment through the UCSC Extension.
UCSC is developing a program for M.S. and Ph.D. in Technology and Information Management. Because the programs are yet to be formally approved, students cannot apply directly to these programs. However, students may take classes and engage in research with TIM faculty as part of an M.S. or Ph.D. in other another host department. Getting To The SVC
Getting to the Silicon Valley Center is a short forty-five minute drive from Santa Cruz to the San Jose area. The Silicon Valley Center is located at 19 Moffett Field in the NASA Ames Research Center. Identification will be needed in order to enter. A map of the area and more detailed driving directions to the Silicon Valley Center is available.
Classes You Can Take
Classes at the Silicon Valley Center range from an hour and a half to three hours in length and meet one day per week. Topics include: addressing the use of information systems within a business enterprise, weekly talks by leading industry practitioners and university researchers to provide in-depth exposure to the management of technology, and current research on a special topic in information systems and technology management.
